Horses in need; the West Liberty Tornado Disaster

The recent tornado disaster in West Liberty has affected many homes, many humans and of course, many horses.   So many of you have already stepped up to help those in need and Sallee Horse Vans is doing our part to help the horses and the owners that care for them. Recently, Sallee Horse Vans was contacted by Dr. Frank Marcum, a Central KY vet, to help with this project. We picked up some vet supplies in Lexington to deliver to West Liberty to the vets that were there helping treat the injured animals. While we were there, we picked up some horses and brought them back to Georgetown to a vet’s farm where they could receive additional medical attention. While most horses have received the medical attention needed, the community is still in need of fencing material and rolled hay. Dr. Marcum expresses his gratitude for the efforts made thus far.

If you have persons that want to make cash donations to the effort, checks can be made to:Equine Health and Welfare Alliance, Inc  (this is a 501c3, so donations are tax deductible).
